60th Birthday Celebration

I am planning a 60th Birthday Celebration for both my parents this year. My dad's big day comes first. He will be 60  in June.  The plan is to celebrate with 60ish of our family and his friends. I am sure the number will be much higher than that since my family loooooves a good party.  So here is where my father's 60th Celebration will take place!!! It's a very nice facility. I get the key at 8am on June 11 and we have to be out by 2am the next day!!!  It has a full kitchen and since my husband is a chef we will prepare all of my Dad's favorite foods!! I can't wait.

Dad's 60th Birthday Celebration

I am planning a 60th Birthday Celebration for both my parents this year.  They are divorsed so a combined celebration just won't do.  My father's big day is in June. The plan is to celebrate with 60ish of our family and his friends. I am sure the number will be much higher than that since my family loooooves a good party. The celebration will take place in beautiful historic Vicksburg, Mississippi.

Super Bowl XLV

I really wanted the Atlanta Falcons to go to the Super Bowl but we just could not make it happen.  So we will just have to root for one of these teams!!!!  I'm sure I'll host a SB Party for my honey and his friends.

Don't Weight Around

I know that I have not posted in a while {about anything} but I just had to let you guys know that I have lost 28.7 pounds in 8 weeks and I am so happy.  This is just the beginning. I want to drop about 60 more and maintain.  If you are planning to drop a few pounds, start small and before you know it you will be on your way. Take the first step...You owe it to yourself!!!!

One Year Later

Birthday Recap-Food

I initially planned a fancy menu for my party on Saturday. I also had planned to have a cookout on Sunday in honor of Memorial Day. However, my family planned to leave for home Sunday morning instead of Monday so I changed my menu a bit. My menu theme changed to one that was more casual...one that lended itself to both my birthday and Memorial Day. Mom's cooking is always welcome in my kitchen!!! We had Southern Fried Corn, Beef Ribs, Pork Ribs, Chicken, Potato Salad, Garden Salad with all the fix-ins ,Mac and Cheese, Fresh Squeeze lemonade and Sweet Tea. It was delicious !!!!!

Birthday Recap-Table Scapes

As I said before, my birthday party was for a small number of individuals. I wanted to share this day with those very dear to my heart. Here are a few pictures of the table scapes.

Concrete Love

God is such an awesome God.  He is always there in time of trouble. He assures that when you truly TRUST and OBEY  him, he will always come through for you. My husband and I have been concerned with paying some unexpected bills off {IRS }.We don't play when it comes to UNCLE SAM. This past weekend,  we were trying to come up with a strategy to pay the IRS off sooner rather than later.  We analyze and analyze...but really did not come to terms with anything. We ended the conversation by saying "Let's just give this to God". We proceeded with enjoying our day.  Monday morning rolled around and we both realized that we had only 2 days to pay our mortgage.  He usually pays the bills but for some reason he forgot to send it in and left the check with me to mail.  I went to work called our Mortgage Company to pay via phone to ensure that we  would not have a late fee. The agent asked me if I wanted to pay the difference.  I replied, "The difference in what".  She informed me that there was over a $1000 credit sitting there which not been applied to our account.  I immediately asked her to verify the account that she was looking at and it indeed was our account. My mouth flew open and I heard a little voice say
 I TOLD YOU THAT I WILL SUPPLY ALL YOUR NEEDS.  I had to close my office door and praise God right then and there.  I called my husband and he closed his door and began to praise God too.   The love that God has for us is  truly Concrete Love...it is thoroughly mixed and permanently set....for all those who want it!

Birthday Recap- Invitations

I am back to share my wonderful birthday gathering. It was a pretty small gathering for me and my family. My mom drove up from MS and threw down in the kitchen. I originally planned an outdoor event, but in the end we held the event inside {bad weather}. I also thought that my mom would be here longer but she had to leave early Sunday Morning. This meant that I had to combine my party and cookout. Nonetheless, we had a wonderful time.  So, let's start the recap with a preview of my announcements. These were fun to make. I wanted to incorporate something about me...something that I realy liked. I love the Juicy Couture fragrance so JC was the theme of my announcements.  Take a look!

I'm Back!!!

I know that I have been gone for a while, but now I am back. I have been so busy with work, planning my brother's wedding and planning my own party. I will be back to show and tell soon!

Weight Journey Update

 I know that I have not posted in a while. I have been busy with invitations and life. Nonetheless, I wanted to offer my progress with my weight loss goals.  So far, I have lost 15 pounds and I feel great. I feel that I can do it!!!  I am taking small steps and I am confident that I will eventually make my goal.  My insurance provider offers free health classes like yoga, step and dancercise.  These classes are awesome. Most are for members, but some are offered to the general public as well {free}. I attended my first sessions last night {yoga and step}. Did I get a real workout...OMG. Tonight I have dancerise and I can't wait. With dropping the 15 lbs, I can't see it , but I can tell that I've lost inches because my clothes are fitting better!  More to come....

Birthday

As stated in a previous post, I will be celebrating my 37th birthday this year. Well, I have decided that this will make an appearance at my Soiree.  Nooooo... not the lamp but the damask print and color. The cool lime green will be accented with black. Now that I have my color scheme. I am on the hunt for more accessories.
